How we use cookies and similar technologies
This Cookie Policy explains how Suora uses cookies and similar technologies on suora.ai/uk, what they do, and how you can manage them.
It works alongside our Privacy Notice , which explains how we handle the personal data we collect.
1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files that websites place on your device to remember information about your visit. Similar technologies — including local storage, session storage, pixels, and tags — work the same way. We use the term "cookies" throughout this policy to cover all of them.
Cookies do useful things — like remembering you between page loads, understanding which pages are popular, and (with your consent) tailoring content to your interests. They can also be used in ways that affect your privacy, which is why UK law gives you control over which cookies you allow.
2. How UK law treats cookies
Cookies in the UK are governed by two laws working together:
- UK GDPR — covers any personal data the cookies process.
- The Privacy and Electronic Communications Regulations (PECR) — sets specific rules for storing or accessing information on your device, regardless of whether personal data is involved.
The general rule under PECR is that we can only set non-essential cookies on your device with your consent. Some cookies are exempt from this rule — see section 4.
The Data (Use and Access) Act 2025 (DUAA), which came into force on 5 February 2026, expanded the categories of cookies that are exempt from consent. We've reflected those changes in this policy.
3. Categories of cookies we use
We use cookies in several categories. Each is explained below.
Strictly necessary cookies
These cookies are essential for the site to work. They let you navigate, use the assessment, submit forms, and access secure areas. Without them, the site won't function correctly.
Examples include cookies that maintain your session as you move between pages, that remember your cookie consent choice, and that provide security against attacks.
These cookies don't require your consent under PECR.
Analytics and statistical cookies
We use these cookies to understand how visitors find and use our site — which pages are popular, where people get stuck, and how the assessment performs. We use this to improve the site over time.
Where we use first-party analytics solely for statistical purposes (and the data is not used for advertising or to identify individual visitors), these cookies fall under the DUAA's "statistical purposes" exemption and don't require your consent. Where we use third-party analytics that may share data with the provider for their own purposes, we ask for your consent.
Functionality and preference cookies
These cookies remember choices you've made — such as your language, region, or display preferences — to give you a better experience next time you visit. Under the DUAA, cookies used solely to adapt the appearance of our service to your preferences don't require your consent.
Marketing and advertising cookies
If we use cookies to show you relevant advertising — including on third-party platforms — those cookies require your consent. We will not set them on your device unless you've actively chosen to accept them.
Embedded content and third-party services
Pages on our site may include content from third parties (for example, embedded videos, calendar booking tools, or chat widgets). Those third parties may set their own cookies through that content. We list the third parties we know of in section 6.
4. Cookies that don't require consent (DUAA exemptions)
From 5 February 2026, UK law recognises five categories of cookies and similar technologies that are exempt from the consent requirement under PECR. These cover technologies used:
- For the transmission of a communication over an electronic communications network.
- To provide a service you have specifically requested (e.g. logging you in, completing the assessment, processing a booking).
- To collect statistical information about visitors solely for the purpose of improving our service, where the data is not used for any other purpose (such as advertising or profiling).
- To improve or adapt the appearance of our service to your preferences.
- To identify a user who requires emergency assistance.
We rely on these exemptions only where the cookies in question fit strictly within the relevant category. If a cookie has any additional purpose (for example, a statistical cookie that also feeds advertising), we treat it as requiring consent.
5. Specific cookies we use
The table below lists the cookies and similar technologies in use on suora.ai/uk. We update this list when we add or remove tools from the site.
Note: the entries below are a working inventory based on our current site setup. The exact list of cookies on your device when you visit may differ slightly depending on which features you use. You can see what's actually been set on your device using your browser's developer tools (right-click → Inspect → Application → Cookies).
| Cookie / technology | Set by | Purpose | Category | Duration |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| [cookie_consent_v1] | Suora (first-party) | Records your cookie consent choice so we don't ask again on every visit. | Strictly necessary | 12 months |
| [session ID cookie name] | Suora (first-party) | Maintains your session as you navigate the site and complete the assessment. | Strictly necessary | Session (deleted when you close your browser) |
| [analytics cookie name, e.g. _ga, _ga_*] | [analytics provider name] | Helps us understand how visitors use the site so we can improve it. | Analytics | [duration, e.g. 24 months] |
| [chatbot cookie name] | [chatbot provider name] | Enables the chat widget on the site if you choose to use it. | Functionality | [duration] |
| [booking widget cookie name] | [calendar / booking provider] | Powers the discovery call booking widget when you click to book a call. | Strictly necessary (when booking) | [duration] |
If you'd like a current technical list of all cookies on this site, contact milachou@suora.ai.
6. Third-party services that may set cookies
The following third-party services may set cookies on your device through our site. Each has its own privacy and cookie practices, which we link to where available:
- [Google Analytics or alternative — link to provider's privacy notice]
- [Botpress chat widget — link to Botpress privacy notice]
- [Calendar booking provider — link to their privacy notice]
- [Any other third-party tools your site loads]
We only allow third-party cookies to be set where they fall within an exemption (see section 4) or where you have given consent through our cookie banner.
7. Managing your cookie preferences
Through our cookie banner
When you first visit suora.ai/uk, we ask for your cookie preferences through a banner. You can choose to accept all non-essential cookies, reject all non-essential cookies, or manage your preferences by category.
You can change your choice at any time by clicking the "Manage cookies" link in our footer. This re-opens the preferences panel and lets you update your settings. Strictly necessary cookies cannot be disabled because the site needs them to function.
Through your browser
You can also manage cookies through your browser settings. Most browsers let you:
- See what cookies are on your device.
- Block all cookies, third-party cookies, or specific cookies.
- Delete cookies that have been set.
- Set up alerts when a site tries to set a cookie.
Browser-level cookie controls work across every site you visit, not just ours. Common browsers' cookie controls are documented at:
- Chrome: support.google.com/chrome
- Firefox: support.mozilla.org
- Safari: support.apple.com
- Edge: support.microsoft.com
What happens if you block all cookies
If you block all cookies, parts of suora.ai/uk may not work properly. The assessment, the discovery call booking flow, and certain interactive elements rely on cookies to function. Strictly necessary cookies are needed to deliver these features.
"Do Not Track" signals
Some browsers offer a "Do Not Track" setting. Because there is no consistent industry standard for how websites should respond to it, we don't currently change our behaviour based on this signal. Instead, we honour the choices you make through our cookie banner and your browser-level cookie controls.
8. Cookies and personal data
Some cookies process information that may be considered personal data under UK GDPR — for example, online identifiers like IP addresses or device IDs. Where this is the case, we treat that data in line with our Privacy Notice , which sets out the lawful bases we rely on, your rights, and how to exercise them.
You can withdraw your consent for non-essential cookies at any time without affecting the lawfulness of any processing we did before withdrawal.
9. Changes to this policy
We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time — for example, when we add new tools to the site, change cookie providers, or need to reflect changes in the law. The current version's effective date is shown at the top of this page.
If we make significant changes, we'll re-prompt you for cookie consent through the banner where required.
